The Curriculum

The curriculum is designed to provide the best possible learning opportunities for all students. Every individual is encouraged to strive for excellence in as many activities as possible. We follow the National Curriculum at Key Stage Three and also provide other courses which benefit the progress of the pupils, for example, the Learn To Learn programme.

Key Stage Four

At Key Stage Four we provide a breadth and depth to our curriculum provision to allow pupils at all levels of ability to reach their full potential.  Our curriculum offers many varied pathways for our students to follow with a joining of formal, compulsory subjects and more fluid personalised choices, which combine to provide a more personlised route.  The Key Stage Four curriculum aims to provide equitable access for all students, allowing each person to obtain the qualifications they need to enter the next phase of their educational experience.  Based as, Alcester Academy is, within the centre of a wide range of post 16 educational establishments, it is important that we provide the means for all students to secure their future learning.
