Why be a Governor?

Becoming a governor can be very rewarding. It gives an opportunity to serve the local community and make a real difference to how a school runs. It is a good medium for personal and professional development.

All governors are volunteers and do not receive any payment for their work, which can be challenging and demanding.

We are keen to attract people in the community who can bring energy, experience and fresh ideas. You may be put off from applying because you think you need to be an expert in education. Not so - interest, enthusiasm and commitment are much more important. Everyone has something that they can offer.

If you think you or someone you know might have some of the qualities that are needed then contact the Clerk to the governing body (tatumskett@warwickshire.gov.uk), in the first instance and ask to be put in touch with the head or chair of governors.
