We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all students. We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children are respected and valued. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice.
The school aims to ensure that:
Appropriate action is taken in a timely manner to safeguard and promote children’s welfare
All staff are aware of their statutory responsibilities with respect to safeguarding
Staff are properly training in recognising and reporting safeguarding issues
The safeguarding team will aim to dela with any issues that stop a student feeling safe. These could be issues at school, home or online.
Saff will seek in general to discuss any concerns with the parent/carer and the need to make any safeguarding referral to Children’s Social Care through the Warwickshire Front Door system. This will only be done where such discussion will not place the child at increased risk of significant harm or cause undue delay.
The school will seek advice through the Warwickshire Front Door when they have reasonable cause to suspect a child may be suffering or likely to suffer from harm.
Occasionally, concerns are passed on which are later found to be unfounded. Parents/carers will appreciate that the school’s Designated safeguarding Lead (Miss K Buckthorp) carries out their responsibilities in accordance with the law and acts in the best interests of all children.
