Student Wellbeing
Student Wellbeing Support at Alcester Academy
At Alcester Academy, the LSU serves as the hub for student wellbeing support. Our LSU staff are specially trained in mental health first aid, and we encourage any student who may be struggling to reach out—there is always someone available to listen and offer support.
Our aim is to help support students through the difficult times and if we can’t help, we will find someone who can. We work with many organisations and we offer bespoke counselling and mentoring to students if they need it.
We have a school counsellor, Claire Gibb, who offers Cognitive Behaviour Sessions (CBT) with her therapy dog Albi. They are based in LSU. We also have Rob Townsend from Lifespace, who offers mentoring to our boys, as well as our brilliant Warwickshire Young Minds Matter mentors who work with many of our students.
Please find below the organisations that come in regularly to school to work with our students.

We also offer drops in around exam time and specific sessions to help with exam stress.
